About Wahat Al Karama
Wahat Al Karama, the "Oasis of Dignity", is Abu Dhabi’s memorial to the UAE’s fallen servicemen, facing the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
The memorial’s centrepiece is a group of 31 leaning aluminium-clad tablets, each supporting the next, inscribed with verses and quotations. In front is a shallow circular pool that reflects the Grand Mosque across the road.
It is a quiet, dignified place and one of the best spots to photograph the mosque at sunset.
