About Deira Clocktower
The Deira Clocktower is a 1960s landmark on a roundabout in Deira — one of the first monuments of modern Dubai.
Built in the mid-1960s at the junction leading to Al Maktoum Bridge, the first bridge across Dubai Creek, the Clocktower became a symbol of the growing city. It stands in the middle of a busy roundabout with fountains around its base.
It is something you pass rather than visit, but it is a good marker of the old commercial heart of Dubai, a short distance from Deira City Centre and the Creek.
