About Hatta Dam
Hatta Dam holds a turquoise lake among the Hajar Mountains, where you can hire kayaks and pedal boats — about 90 minutes’ drive from Dubai.
Hatta is an exclave of Dubai in the mountains near the Omani border. The dam, built in the 1990s, created a narrow green-blue reservoir between bare rock ridges that has become one of the emirate’s favourite day trips.
Kayaks, pedal boats and small electric boats are available for hire. Close by are the Hatta Heritage Village, mountain-bike and hiking trails, and Hatta Wadi Hub with its adventure activities.
