About Al Ain Zoo
Al Ain Zoo, at the foot of Jebel Hafeet, is the largest zoo in the UAE, known for its Arabian species and the Al Ain Safari.
Founded in 1968 by Sheikh Zayed, the zoo holds around 4,000 animals, with a focus on desert species such as the Arabian oryx and sand cat. The Al Ain Safari takes visitors by truck through a large African savannah enclosure. The Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre is on site.
