About Al Bidya Mosque
Al Bidya Mosque in Fujairah is regarded as the oldest mosque still in use in the UAE — a small mud-and-stone building with four low domes.
The mosque stands beside the coast road north of Khor Fakkan. Its single prayer hall is roofed by four small domes resting on one central pillar, a design unusual in the region. Studies date it to around the 15th century.
Behind it, a short path climbs to two watchtowers with views of the coast and the Hajar Mountains. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times and should dress modestly.
