About Fujairah Fort
Fujairah Fort, on a rocky rise above the old town, is one of the oldest and largest forts in the UAE.
The fort is thought to date from the 16th–17th centuries and is built of rock, gravel and mortar, with round and square towers. It was damaged by British bombardment in 1925 and later restored.
Around it are the remains of old Fujairah’s houses and a heritage village, and the Fujairah Museum is nearby.
