About Jebel Jais
Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah is the highest mountain in the UAE at about 1,934 metres, reached by a winding road with viewing decks, hiking trails and the world’s longest zipline.
Jebel Jais is part of the Hajar Mountains on the border with Oman. A wide, well-built road climbs through switchbacks to a series of viewing platforms near the top, where it is usually around 10°C cooler than on the coast.
The mountain has become the UAE’s adventure centre: the Jais Flight zipline, the Jais Sledder toboggan run, a network of hiking trails, and 1484 by Puro, the highest restaurant in the country. It is about a 45-minute drive from Ras Al Khaimah city.
